What does CO2 laser resurfacing do?

CO2 lasers treat sun damage, wrinkles, scars and other skin conditions. The carbon dioxide (CO2) laser has a 10600nm wavelength that is attracted to water in the skin.  Water is one of the main constituents of the skin. When the laser interacts with the skin, it evaporates a layer of skin as well as causes some heating of the skin. The carbon beams directly into the skin thus forming microscopic holes (micro-thermal) helping it deeper penetration of the skin, optimal collagen remodelling and significantly low-down time.
