Fractional Co2

Fractional Co2 laser resurfacing Laser treatment is getting popular these days as it is used widely for different cosmetic procedures. With its evolution over time, it has gotten more effective thus helping treat more than a single skin condition. With a combination of laser and technology, this technique has proved far better results on the skin.

What is fractional Co2 laser resurfacing?

The carbon dioxide (CO2) laser has a 10600nm wavelength that is attracted to water in the skin.  Water is one of the main constituents of the skin. When the laser interacts with the skin, it evaporates a layer of skin as well as causes some heating of the skin. This laser has been used for many years to help improve skin condition and to reverse the effects of ageing and sun exposure. It improves skin texture, reduces find lines, wrinkles and reduces pigmentation caused by sun exposure.

Fractional Co2 laser resurfacing is a non-surgical laser procedure commonly performed by dermatologists or Health professionals where a certain pattern of fractional Co2 (carbon dioxide) laser beams is used to treat the skin. The carbon beams directly into the skin thus forming microscopic holes (microthermal) helping it deeper penetration of the skin, optimal collagen remodelling and significantly low-down time. The remarkably small spot size and expanded control of density and depth as well as increased speed will broaden your capabilities, giving you the ability to offer truly customizable treatments.

Laser procedure works for skin conditions like:

▪ Acne scars

▪ Other scars and skin irregularities

▪ Wrinkles

▪ Age spots

▪ Crow’s feet

▪ Smoker’s lines

▪ Sun damage

▪ Uneven skin tone

▪ Sagging skin

▪ Hyperpigmentation

.

Not many people get this treatment done on their legs. That is rare.

On the other hand, it improves over the months allowing the rejuvenation to last for years to come.

Can this treatment be performed for all lash lengths and colours?

The energy from the laser takes time to show its effects all at once. It shows its effects on the skin thus increasing recovery time and enhancement of results. They say that lighter skin types adjust to the laser beams unlike darker skin types who are prone to pigmentation or other abnormalities later but that is not entirely true. It can be performed for all skin types and skin colour. Registered nurse will advise you regarding your skin type and the procedure that follows.

Are there any risks involved with it and is it painful?

There are little to no risks involved in this treatment. When it comes to the pain factor, there is almost less to no pain experienced. The sensations are just like a prickling feeling. However, some clients may feel slight discomfort thereafter. That is why post-treatment care is essential. Also, care must be taken to protect the eyes with protective eyewear during the procedure as the laser beam exposure can cause serious damage to the eyes.
